Designed as a luxury boutique building, 383 Sorauren brings a new urban feel to the west end neighbourhood of Roncesvalles. NAK Design Strategies was part of a design team which prides itself on extreme attention to detail, contributing to a unique pedestrian-scaled development which respects the surrounding vernacular of single family homes and adaptively re-used industrial buildings. Streetscape design for the midrise building acknowledges the neighbourhood’s scale and character, tying into a ground-floor amenity terrace with a backyard feel. The three-season amenity terrace is equipped with an outdoor kitchen, gas fireplace and propane heaters for entertaining during cold weather. Several seating areas, surrounded with greenery and glass privacy dividers were created to enhance the function of the shared space.
