The Fairwinds community is defined and built around existing natural features that form the edges and boundaries of its neighbourhoods. The central Poole Creek channel has been enhanced with native vegetation and it forms the primary unifying landscape element in the community. Parks, greenspaces, bridge crossings and pedestrian connections emphasize the relationship between the community and the natural environment. Introduced landscape elements include tree planting, low stone walls and piers, wood crossbuck fencing and naturalized vegetation. These elements contribute to community character and assist in wayfinding and orientation.
