Mount Pleasant Village is located in north-west Brampton, Ontario and forms the southern-most section of the broader Mount Pleasant Community. Recently completed, the Village is situated adjacent to the Mount Pleasant GO Station, which, apart from providing convenient and accessible public transit options, serves as the focus for integrated residential, retail, civic and cultural uses.
The Mount Pleasant Village Community Design Guidelines (CDG) were intended to build upon the principles that had been outlined at the outset of the design process during charrettes involving municipal staff, agency staff, consultants and stakeholders. As a design tool, these guidelines had evolved in concert with the block plans, informing the preparation of draft plans, site plans and detailed open space and built form design. The result has been the successful integration of social, environmental and economic principles in crafting a unique, vibrant, attractive and highly functional community that delivers convenient local and regional transit at its core.
