Design Intent

NAK Design Strategies worked with Kallmann McKinnel & Wood architects to create a unique landscape setting for this multi-level brick, wood and glass home in Reading, Pennsylvania. At the back of the house, tiered beds of mass plantings cascade from the raised floor level to meet the grade of the lawn below. Anchoring the connection between the mossy, tiered plantings and the lawn is a semi-abstract bronze reclining figure. The soft, tiered plantings of the back are juxtaposed by the clean and rectilinear design of a sleekly paved entry court featuring a wall defined by a thin channel water feature and moss accents.
