NAK is seeking an entry-level landscape architect(s) to join our growing team in the Calgary office. The ideal candidate will be team-oriented with excellent technical skills, an interest in big ideas, and be a self-motivated individual who is willing to take on responsibility and respond to challenges daily.

Responsibilities: As a member of the NAK Family, you will be responsible for a full range of project responsibilities including:

  • Preparation of design drawings from concept through to contract documents, tender and contract administration services
  • Preparation of conceptual renderings and diagrams
  • Preparation of cost estimates, quantity take-offs, site analysis and construction reviews
  • Development of creative and innovative technical solutions to complex design problems

Qualifications:

  • An undergraduate (BLA) or graduate degree (MLA) in Landscape Architecture is preferred
  • 1 – 5 years of project and design experience in architecture, landscape architecture or planning
  • Generally, a beast in all things AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Microsoft Office. Any 3D modelling platforms are a strong asset
  • Emerging level of design ability and technical knowledge are required, with an understanding of the landscape architect’s role in a consulting environment
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Associate (intern) member of the Alberta Association of Landscape Architects (AALA) or other provincial landscape architecture association preferred
  • Has a keen interest and/or experience working in Alberta’s landscape architectural, horticulture, parks planning, architectural and land development industry
  • Most importantly, has the passion and desire to be part of building a legacy in the expansion of a national firm, with a strong and growing local presence in Calgary, Edmonton and Western Canada
